St. Petersburg Police: Man Shot Woman, Then Self

They were in an on-again, off-again relationship, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department.

ST. PETERSBURG – A woman is in serious condition and a man is dead after two shootings Sunday (Sept. 30) evening, the St. Petersburg Police Department said.

Jasima McKinnie, 29, was in serious condition at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg. Marty Zerrell Stone Jr. was found dead at one of the scenes.

Police said that Mr. Stone shot McKinnie about 7:15 p.m. in front of a home in the 5200 block of Sixth Street S. He then left on foot and died of a self-inflicted gunshot a few blocks away at Sunrise and Fourth Street S.

The two were in an on-again, off -again relationship.
