St. Petersburg Police Accuse Man of Murder

Police are looking for a second suspect involved in the shootings of two men.

ST. PETERSBURG – A St. Petersburg man has been charged in a shooting that killed one person and injured another.

Mark Pointer, 25, of Tampa died Thursday (Aug. 17) at Bayfront Health of his wounds. The other victim, Julius Buchanan, 28, also of Tampa, is at Bayfront Health in critical condition.

Neville Allen Chambers, 21, of 450 Third Ave, S, St. Petersburg, was charged with first degree murder. Police are searching for a second suspect.

St. Petersburg police said they received a call about 10:50 p.m. Tuesday (Aug. 16) about two men shot inside a car at 3745 Ninth Ave. N. Officers found Mr. Pointer and Chambers who were taken to Bayfront.
