St. Petersburg Man Charged in Pinellas Park Murder

The dead man was shot during an argument, Pinellas Park police said.

PINELLAS PARK – A St Petersburg man has been charged in the shooting death of a Pinellas Park man, according to the Pinellas Park Police Department.

Corey Montego Small, 40, of St. Petersburg, was charged with one count each of felon in possession of a firearm and second degree murder in connection with the death of Lawrence Fagan.

Police said Pinellas Park officers were called to Cedar Hollow Apts., 7231 Cedar Court, just before midnight Friday (Nov. 16) for a report of a man lying on the ground after a disturbance. When police and Pinellas Park firefighter paramedics arrived, they found Mr. Fagan who had been shot multiple times. Mr. Fagan was taken to a hospital where he died.

Detectives said they believe that Small and Mr. Fagan began arguing inside an apartment and, during the argument, Small shot Mr. Fagan.
