St. Pete Police: DUI Driver Crashes into Patrol Car

The police officer suffered minor injuries, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department.

ST. PETERSBURG – A Treasure Island man was charged with driving under the influence after he crashed into a police car this morning (Oct. 29), the St. Petersburg Police Department said.

The officer, Rachel Hunter, was not seriously injured. She was taken to the hospital to be checked out and is recuperating at home.

Chapin Mills Huffman, 23, was charged with one count each of driving under the influence and possession of marijuana.

Officers said Hunter was on her way to a non-emergency call about 12:49 a.m. when a black KIA driven by Huffman struck the police car at the intersection of Fourth Street S and Dali Boulevard.
