The suspect is hospitalized and will be taken to the Pinellas County Jail when released from medical care, the St. Petersburg police said.

ST. PETERSBURG – Police have arrested a man in connection with Monday’s (Feb. 27) stabbing death of a St. Petersburg man.

Trevor Scott, 22, died at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg where he was taken after the stabbing.

St. Petersburg police say they have arrested Thomas Ryan Peruchi, 23. Peruchi was in Bayfront late Monday where he was being treated for cuts to his leg. Police said they will take him to the Pinellas County Jail when doctors release him. The exact charges will be released then, officers said.

Officers said Peruchi drove to Mr. Scott’s home at 939 1/2 45th St. N about 7 p.m. The two men knew each other and Mr. Scott got into Peruchi’s car. They had a dispute while seated in the car,  police said, and Peruchi stabbed Mr. Scott. Mr. Scott was able to get out of the car. Peruchi left the scene.

Later, police said, they received a medical call at 4643 5th Ave. S because Peruchi had lacerations to his leg. Officers said they were able to link the two incidents.
