He met the 14 year old on the internet, Pinellas sheriff’s deputies say.

PINELLAS COUNTY – A St. Petersburg man is accused of sexual battery on a 14 year old whom he met on the internet.

Mark A. Reeves, 31, of 4924 22nd Ave. N in St. Petersburg, has been charged with one count each of sexual battery and one count of felony violation of probation, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation began Saturday (Dec. 17) after the parent of the 14-year-old victim, called deputies to their home. The parent told deputies that she caught Reeves standing outside her daughter’s bedroom window the night before.

Deputies said they discovered that the girl first met Reeves on Facebook in February. The teen told deputies that Reeves maintained a relationship with her and had inappropriate sexual
activity with her on multiple occasions, between September and December. Deputies said there were able to corroborate the girl’s statements. They said they also determined that Reeves knew she was only 14-years-old.
