Hernando sheriff’s deputies said both admitted they had been involved with the burglaries.

HERNANDO COUNTY – Two teens have been charged with multiple burglaries, two of which happened during the local state of emergency declared for Hurricane Irma, Hernando sheriff’s deputies said.

Deputies said the arrests were in connection with the attempted burglary of a home on Meredith Drive and the burglary of two businesses, the Hazy Daze Smoke Shop  and a Circle K at 11091 Spring Hill Drive. Deputies said the boys had several packs of opened and unopened cigarettes, blunts, bongs and lighters that had been stolen from the Hazy Daze and the Circle K.

During questioning, deputies said, both teens admitted their involvement in all of the burglaries, two of which were committed while the county was under a local state of emergency.
