Spring Hill Man Sold Drugs, Hernando Deputies Say

Nelson Lugo | Crime | Arrests

This is the second time this year he has been charged with drug-related offenses, Hernando sheriff’s deputies said.

SPRING HILL – A Spring Hill man has been arrested in connection with the sale of drugs, the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office said.

Nelson Luis Lugo, 49, was charged with distribution of cocaine, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

This is the second time this year Lugo has been accused of drug-related offenses. Deputies said Lugo was arrested April 18 and charged with multiple offenses, including cocaine trafficking, possession of cocaine, sale of cocaine, possession of drug equipment, and possession of marijuana.

Lugo was able to bond out on the original charges and began selling narcotics again a couple days later. This led sheriff’s detectives to execute a search warrant Wednesday (June 6) at a home on Maderia Street in Spring Hill.

Investigation revealed that the resident, Lugo, was involved in the sale of cocaine. During the search of the residence, detectives said they found 13.9 grams of marijuana that was packaged to sell, multiple items of paraphernalia, and $33 in U.S. currency.
