Spring Hill Man Chokes Wife, Family Dog, Deputies Say

Pasco deputies said he and his wife had an argument about infidelity.

SPRING HILL – A Spring Hill man was arrested after he choked both his wife and the family dog, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.

Nathaniel Christopher Reed, 26, of Spring Hill, was charged with one count each of Domestic Battery by Strangulation No/Minor Injuries, Tampering with a Witness, and felony Cruelty to Animals.

Deputies said Reed and his wife were arguing over infidelity when Reed lunged at his wife, tackled her and choked her in front of two witnesses. She was unable to breathe and told deputies she believed she briefly lost consciousness.

When Reed began choking her, deputies said, his wife grabbed her cell phone and tried to call for help but was unable to do so because he continued to choke her.

After choking his wife, Reed punched and choked the family dog causing it to lose consciousness.

Deputies said Reed’s wife had a bloody nose, red marks on her neck and swelling to her left wrist.
