Two Shot in St. Petersburg on Christmas Eve

They were standing in a group that had been involved in a dispute with two men, St. Petersburg police said.

ST. PETERSBURG – A woman and a man were shot on Christmas Eve while in a group standing in front of a home, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department.

The two, whom St. Petersburg police did not identify, were taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg with non-life-threatening injuries. They have been released from the hospital.

The shooting happened about 8:52 p.m. at 1608 Russell St. S. Police said that, when the arrived, officers were told that two unknown men became involved in a dispute with people gathered at the home. As the two unknown men were leaving, they fired shots at the group of people who had left the home and were standing outside. Officers said the investigation is continuing.
