Sheriff Arrests 32 in Mid-Pinellas

“Operation Street Sweep” targeted individuals with outstanding warrants in central Pinellas County.

PINELLAS COUNTY – Pinellas County sheriff’s deputies working with law enforcement officers from at least four other agencies arrested 32 wanted suspects in central Pinellas during a 12-hour “Operation Street Sweep” on Thursday (May 14). Officers targeted individuals with felony warrants issued in the last four years and misdemeanor warrants issued in the past two years.

During the operation, which was conducted from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday (May 14), law enforcement teams from the Sheriff’s Office, the U.S. Marshal Service, and the Clearwater, Largo and Pinellas Park police departments fanned out across four zones in central Pinellas. Thirty-two (32) physical arrests were made. Thirty-one (31) of those arrested had a total of 35 outstanding warrants. One subject was arrested on a non-warrant related charge (possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia), and one subject arrested for a warrant had an additional charge (possession of peroin). Three subjects were already incarcerated; both in state and out of state.
