Seminole Man Charged with DUI Manslaughter in Park Boulevard Crash

A father and son died in the four-vehicle crash, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said.

SEMINOLE – A Seminole man has been arrested in connection with a July traffic crash on Park Boulevard that killed a father and son, the PInellas County Sheriff’s Office said.

James Harrison Wolf, 60, of Seminole, was charged with two counts of DUI manslaughter. The four-vehicle crash killed Edward Scott Delzer, 59, of New Port Richey, and his father, Harvey Vern Delzer, 86, of Madeira Beach. Both died at the scene. Wolf, was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg with non-life-threatening injuries. (Click here for related story.)

On July 28, 2018, deputies said, Wolf was driving his 2005 Chevrolet SUV westbound on Park Boulevard, approaching the intersection of 104th Lane, when he failed to stop for a red traffic light and crashed into a 2001 Lexus driven by Edward Delzer.

Investigators say Wolf had the distinct odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath, he showed signs of impairment, and admitted to consuming alcohol before the crash.

The investigation revealed that Wolf’s vehicle was traveling at about 82 mph at the time of impact.

Deputies arrested Wolf at his home in Seminole on Tuesday (Aug. 14) evening.
