Seminole Man Accused of Child Porn, Weapons Violations

The man took sexually explicit photos of a 10 year old, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office says.

SEMINOLE – Pinellas County sheriff’s deputies on Tuesday (Dec. 13) accused a man of multiple crimes including child pornography and weapons violations.

James E. Rybicki, 60, of 13766 Dominica Drive in Seminole, was charged with one count of promoting a sexual performance by a child, one count of possession of child pornography, two counts of felon in possession of a firearm and one count of felon in possession of ammunition.The victim is 13 years old, but was about 10 years old when the incidents happened, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies began their investigation began in August when they received a complaint that Rybicki had approached a different 10-year-old girl and tried convincing her to model bathing suits so
he could take pictures of her. Afterwards, Rybicki told the girl to keep the conversation a secret.

Deputies said they found two other girls Rybicki had tried to convince into posing for pictures in bathing suits. The girls ranged in ages from 10 to 16 years old. Another girl, who was about 10 years old at the time, reported she went with Rybicki to his residence alone, and allowed Rybicki to take inappropriate photographs of her in bikini style bathing suits. Afterwards, Rybicki told her to keep the incident a secret.

Deputies said they found a sexually explicit photograph from one of Rybicki’s devices that he had taken of the victim about two years ago. They also found  two handguns and ammunition from Rybicki’s residence.

Rybicki had been convicted in 2001 for lewd and lascivious conduct after taking sexually inappropriate photographs of a young girl, deputies said.

Rybicki was known to all of the girls in this investigation.
