He had active felony burglary warrants, Hillsborough deputies said.

SEFFNER – A SWAT standoff ended peacefully with the arrest of a man wanted on nine warrants, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.

William Joseph Swint, 27, of Seffner, was taken to Tampa General Hospital to be checked out after the standoff. He was then taken to jail where he was charged with one count of Resisting an Officer without Violence and nine counts of Violation of Parole for charges that included Possession of Cannabis, Burglary of an Unoccupied Dwelling, Grand Theft, and Grand Theft Motor Vehicle.

Deputies said a tip lead them to the Wigwam RV Park, 9201 Williams Road in Seffner around 6:30 p.m. Friday (May 3). Swint was found hiding inside a small camper in the trailer park.

Swint barricade himself in the camper after deputies arrived and refused to surrender.

SWAT negotiators worked with Swint for nearly two hours to convince him to surrender. Instead, Swint barricaded the door of the trailer. Deputies said they shot gas into the trailer, but Swint climbed onto the roof of the trailer and still refused to surrender. Deputies then used a less lethal weapon.

Immediately after, SWAT deputies said they seized and handcuffed Swint.
