The mail included several checks worth thousands of dollars, Hillsborough deputies say.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A Seffner man is accused of stealing mail containing checks worth thousands of dollars, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

Kyle Anthony Mitchell, 25, of Seffner was charged with one count each of Grand Theft (more than $100,000) and a Violation of Probation for Possession of a Controlled Substance. Several firearms were recovered during the investigation and additional charges are pending.

Deputies said that about 10 a.m. Thursday (Nov. 7), Mitchell drove a white truck up to a mailbox at Alaman Construction Services and removed mail. The mail included several checks.
