PLANT CITY – A Seffner man has been arrested in connection with a Dec. 26 crash on James L. Redman Parkway that killed a woman and seriously injured another driver, the Plant City Police Department said.

Maria De Jesus-Rodriguez, 57, a passenger in one of the vehicles, died in the crash. Manuel Flores of Mulberry, who was driving the car in which Ms. De Jesus-Rodriquez was riding, was injured.

Bradley C. McTaggart, 38, of Seffner, was charged with one count each of Vehicular Homicide and of Reckless Driving.

The crash happened about 7:39 p.m. at 3413 James L. Redman Parkway in Plant City.

Police said McTaggart was driving a Chevrolet Colorado north on James L. Redman Parkway. The Chevrolet then traveled west through the grass median that separates northbound and southbound traffic and
into the southbound lanes of traffic.

The Chevrolet struck a 1995 Ford Contour driven by Flores that was southbound on the parkway in the east most lane. It then deflected into a 2016 Ford Focus that was also southbound on the parkway in
the west most southbound lane.

At some point during the crash, the Chevrolet began a roll onto its right side and remained on its side as it came to final rest. The Ford Contour came to rest in the roadway, while the Ford Focus came to rest in a drainage ditch along the west most shoulder.
