School Security Officer Accused of Sexual Battery on Pupil, 6

The battery happened at occurred at the school where the security officer worked and where the child was a pupil, Tampa police said.

TAMPA – An elementary school security officer is accused of sexually battering a 6-year-old pupil at the school, according to the Tampa Police Department.

Malcolm Curtis Tillman, 22, of Tampa, was charged with one count of Sexual Battery on a victim less than 12 years old.

Tampa Police said they were notified Jan. 10 of a possible sexual battery at Booker T. Washington Elementary School, 1407 E Estelle St., involving a school security officer and a 6-year-old female pupil. The school security officer, Tillman, an employee of Hillsborough County Public Schools, is stationed at Booker T. Washington Elementary School.

Tillman denied the allegation, but admitted that he was alone with the child in a classroom. The investigation turned up physical evidence, including DNA, from the classroom that supported the child’s account, police said.

Tillman was arrested Wednesday (Jan. 23) afternoon.
