Riverview Woman Accused in Shooting Death of Husband

The shooting happened during a domestic disturbance, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.

RIVERVIEW – A woman has been accused of shooting her husband to death because he would not apologize for punching her father, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.

Mark A. Hendley, 51, died of his wounds this morning (May 26) at a hospital where he was taken after the shooting.

Sabrina Michelle Hendley, 40, of Riverview, has been charged with one count of first degree murder.

Just after midnight today, Sabrina and Mark Hendley became involved in a verbal argument while at their Riverview home. Deputies said a physical fight broke out between Mr. Hendley and his father-in-law. During the fight, Mr. Hendley punched his fahter-in-law’ multiple times and bruised his face.

Mr. Hendley then walked away from the fight and went into his bedroom. Sabrina Hendley followed Mr. Hendley into the bedroom and demanded he apologize to her father. When Mr. Hendley refused, deputies said, his wife pulled a handgun from the bed and shot her husband once in the upper body.
