Pedestrian Dies Crossing St. Petersburg Street

The man died at the scene, St. Petersburg police said.

ST. PETERSBURG – A 64-year-old man died Tuesday (June 28) when he was struck by an SUV while crossing 34th Street N, according to St. Petersburg police.

The man’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The man died at the scene.

The accident happened about 9:35 p.m. Tuesday (June 28) when a 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Kendra Thompson, 31, struck the pedestrian, throwing him to the roadway, police said. The Tahoe was traveling north on 34th approaching 33rd Avenue N. The pedestrian was crossing 34th.
