Coffee with a Cop | Police | Community Policing

Tampa police officers will be at six locations Friday (Oct. 7) morning for a casual chat with residents.

TAMPA – Members of the Tampa Police Department will sit down and chat with the community over a cup of coffee during national Coffee with a Cop Day on Friday (Oct. 7).

Coffee with a Cop Day is a national initiative supported by the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Community Oriented Policing Services. The concept goes hand in hand with the Tampa department’s ongoing Community Conversations. With no agenda and no speeches, both Coffee with a Cop Day and Community Conversations allow for a casual atmosphere where the citizens and the officers who serve them get to know each other on a more personal level.

Coffee with a Cop Day is an opportunity for community residents to sit down with officers and ask questions or share what is on their mind. Citizens and police officers also discover mutual goals for the communities they live in and serve.

Tampa officers will be at Ginger Beard Coffee, 1208 E Kennedy Blvd. from 7:30 a.m. -9 a.m. They’ll be at the Open Cafe, 3322 N 34th St. from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. They’ll be at four McDonald’s from 9 a.m. to 10;30 a.m. – 1520 W Kennedy Blvd., 1908 E Hillsborough Ave., 3411 E Busch Blvd. and 6505 S Dale Mabry Highway.
