Bomb Threat at Hospital Unfounded, Clearwater Police Say

Police are searching for the man who called in the threat.

CLEARWATER – Police here are searching for a man who called to report a bomb at Morton Plant Hospital.

Clearwater police said they were called to Morton Plant Hospital, 300 Pinellas St., just before midnight Wednesday (Sept. 21) after a report of a bomb threat. Multiple units, including K9 officers, conducted a floor-by-floor sweep of the hospital. Officers also checked parking areas and adjacent locations. Nothing of significance was found; the all-clear was given after about 45 minutes, police said. The search for the caller, a male, is ongoing.
