BROOKSVILLE – The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office on Friday (June 1) took over law enforcement for the city of Brooksville.

The changeover, which includes responsibility for Brooksville residents and businesses, is pursuant to an agreement between the Brooksville City Council and the sheriff’s office.

Brooksville residents and businesses that need law enforcement help should contact the sheriff’s office at (352) 754-6830 for non-urgent issues. All emergencies should always be reported to 9-1-1.

The building that formerly housed the Brooksville Police Department is now the HCSO District One office.
