The Pinellas Park Police Department said officers continue to look for the gun as well as other suspects.

PINELLAS PARK – A teen has been arrested and charged with attempted felony murder in connection with a shooting during a vehicle burglary Sunday (Feb. 18) morning, the Pinellas Park Police Department said.

Brandon Paul Roman, 17, of Pinellas Park, has been charged with two counts of armed burglary and one count each of attempted felony murder, aggravated assault with a firearm, violation of probation (grand theft motor vehicle), and delinquent in possession of a firearm.

The vehicle burglary, early Sunday, resulted in the shooting of Alexander Weaver. Weaver suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot would to the arm.

Police said Roman was in the area of 62 Street and 106th Avenue N about 1:15 a.m. Sunday looking for unlocked vehicles to burglarize. He stole a handgun from an unlocked vehicle in the area, then made his way to 6229 106th Ave. N where Weaver saw him burglarizing his vehicle.

Weaver confronted Roman and chased him down the street. While being chased, Roman pulled out the stolen firearm and began shooting at Weaver, officers said.

Police said they are continuing to investigate. They want to identify and possibly charge others who helped Roman with the burglaries. The stolen firearm had not been found as of late Tuesday. Police said they are also working to find it.
