Pinellas Park Police Investigate Shooting

The 17-year-old victim was taken to a hospital in serious condition, the Pinellas Park police said.

PINELLAS PARK – Police here are investigating a shooting that happened late Tuesday (March 14).

Information is limited because the investigation had just begun, but Pinellas Park police said the shooting happened about 10:30 p.m. while the teenaged victim was sitting inside of vehicle that was in the parking lot of 5170 Park Blvd. A McDonald’s is located at that address.

The vehicle carrying the victim left that parking lot after the shooting, officers said, and ended up in the parking lot of the Barbara Ponce Library, 7770 52nd St. N, about one block north of the approximately one block North from the shooting location. The other occupants of the vehicle abandoned the victim and vehicle in that parking lot.

The victim was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

Police said there was no known motive for the shooting nor any suspects late Tuesday. The shooting, they said, appears to be an isolated incident involving the victim and the others he was with. There is no known danger to the public.
