Pinellas Park Police Investigate Shooting of Bicyclist

The bicyclist is in critical condition.

PINELLAS PARK – Police here are investigating a shooting that left a bicyclist in critical condition.

The bicyclist’s name is not being released until his next of kin are notified.

The Pinellas Park Police Department said officers were called to the 6000 block of 62nd Avenue N about 7 p.m. Monday (Oct. 23) to help firefighters/paramedics in what was reported as a bicycle accident.

The 44-year-old man was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg for treatment. The hospital notified officers that he had suffered a single gunshot wound.

Investigators are trying to discover exactly where the shooting took place and who was responsible.
