The DUI wolf pack also issued 99 citations during the nine-hour operation, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.

PINELLAS COUNTY – Law enforcement officers wrote a total of 138 charges and citations during a DUI wolf pack operation in Pinellas County that began Saturday (Nov. 24) evening and ended early this morning (Nov. 25).

That total included 39 criminal charges and 99 citations.

The wolf pack was spearheaded by the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office. Troopers and officers from Florida Highway Patrol Troop C and the Kenneth City, Indian Shores, St. Petersburg, Largo, Tarpon Springs and Gulfport police departments also too part.

The operation was part of the Pinellas sheriff’s ongoing commitment to reduce deaths, injuries, and property damage associated with traffic crashes related to impaired driving. The goal of a wolf pack is to educate drivers and create public awareness about the dangers of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and any chemical or controlled substances.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting DUI wolf packs continuously throughout the year.
