Pinellas Deputies Charge Cheerleading Coach with Sexual Battery of Teen, 15

Victor Martin Valenty | Hillsborogh Sheriff | Arrests

The charges are in addition to those filed earlier in the week by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. Hillsborough sheriff’s deputies said they have added charges after a second teen came forward.

OLDSMAR – An Oldsmar man is facing multiple counts of sexual battery after he had inappropriate sexual relations with a 15 year old, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said.

Victor Valenty, 28, of Oldsmar, was charged with four counts of sexual battery (custodial authority).

The warrant was served at the Hillsborough County Jail where Valenty is in custody. Hillsborough deputies arrested and charged Valenty on Thursday (June 21) with 10 counts of traveling to meet a minor, and one count each of distributing obscene material to a minor, unlawful use of a two-way communications device, and obscene communication cause allow use of computer pornography. He will be transferred to the Pinellas County Jail. (For related story, click here.)

This morning (June 23), the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said deputies have added three charges to those already filed because a second teen has come forward. The additional charges against Valenty are obscene communication travel to meet after use of computer to lure child, use of two-way communication device to facilitate felony, and obscene communication use of computer to seduce/solicit/lure child.

The original charges from Hillsborough and the charges from Pinellas arise out of Valenty’s job as a cheerleading coach for Storm All Stars Cheer and Dance in Brandon, where he met the teen, who was 15 at the time. She is now 16 years old.

Pinellas deputies said Valenty engaged in inappropriate sexual activity with the girl at his Oldsmar residence. The inappropriate activity occurred from September 2016 through April 2017.

On Thursday, Valenty was interviewed at the Hillsborough County Jail where, Pinellas detectives said, he admitted to the allegations.

Pinellas detectives presented the case to the Pinellas/Pasco State Attorney’s Office and a warrant was issued. Hillsborough County deputies served the warrant.

Valenty met the second teen, a 17-year-old girl, through his job as a cheerleading coach. Hillsborough deputies said he admitted communicating with her early this month through SnapChat and the telephone before picking her up in Hillsborough and taking her back to his Oldsmar residence. Once there, they had inappropriate sexual contact.
