The man was arrested about 9;30 a.m. today (April 5) at Chic A Si Park, 311 1st S N, Indian Rocks Beach, using mobile fingerprint technology.

INDIAN ROCKS BEACH – At about 7:55 this morning (April 5), patrol deputies from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office stopped a man at Chic A Si Park. The individual had no identification on his person. Deputies say the individual initially provided a false name and advised he was from Yonkers, NY. A database search for the individual provided no results. Deputies subsequently utilized the mobile fingerprint reader to identify the suspect on scene. The technology allowed deputies to identify the suspect within a short period of time. The individual was identified as 25-year-old Seaton Shomari, 62 Coolidge Ave., Yonkers. Shomari was found to have multiple warrants from Hoke County North Carolina and New York City Police Department.

The Hoke County North Carolina warrants: first degree sexual offense, three-counts first degree kidnapping, two-counts robbery with a deadly weapon and attempted crime against nature sexual battery. The New York Police Department warrants: robbery.

Deputies say the suspect left New York on Wednesday (April 1) and traveled to North Carolina where he had a brief layover. He then left North Carolina and arrived in Indian Rocks Beach on Thursday (April 2). Shomari was arrested on the various warrants and transported to the Pinellas County Jail without further incident.

The investigation continues. For information about the arrest, see pcsoweb.com.
