Wolf Pack Aims at Speeding Motorcyclists

Four law enforcement agencies focused their efforts overnight on speeding motorcycles and other vehicles being operated recklessly.

CLEARWATER – The Clearwater Police Department took part in a multi-agency crackdown Wednesday (May 1) night and early today (May 2) on motorcycles and other vehicles operating in a reckless manner.

Clearwater Police officers were joined by units from the Florida Highway Patrol, Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office and Tarpon Springs Police Department. It is the second such operation that the Clearwater Police Department has conducted on the issue.

The enforcement effort began at 5 p.m. Wednesday and concluded at 3 a.m. today. The detail focused from Clearwater city limits north to the Pasco County line, with much of the emphasis being on U.S. 19.

The detail issued 31 speeding citations, with seven of those for vehicles traveling more than 30 mph over the speed limit; nine non-moving violations; and nine criminal violations.
