The goal of a wolf pack is to educate drivers and create public awareness about the dangers of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and any chemical or controlled substances.

This operation was dedicated to, 38-year-old John Sorensen, who died Jan. 30 after he was struck in Dunedin by a wrong-way driver, while driving his motorcycle. The wrong way driver was impaired at the time of the crash, deputies said.

Other agencies that took part in the wolf pack: the Florida Highway Patrol and the Clearwater, Gulfport, Indian Shores, Kenneth City, Largo, Pinellas Park, St. Petersburg, Tarpon Springs and Treasure Island police departments. G4S Prisoner Transportation provided support. The wolf pack ran from 7 p.m. Friday (Dec. 16) until 5 a.m. today (Dec. 17).
