Motorcycle Driver Dies after Hitting Curb in South Pasadena

Speed and impairment both appear to be factors in the crash, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.

SOUTH PASADENA – A motorcycle driver died Saturday (March 25) of injuries he received when he was thrown from his bike, the Pinellas County Sheriff said.

Jeremy Jerome Sims, 27, of St. Petersburg, died at Bayfront Health where he was taken after the crash. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Deputies said that speed and impairment both appear to be factors in the single-vehicle crash.

The crash happened about 8:57 p.m. on Pasadena Avenue S west of Shore Drive in South Pasadena. Mr. Sims wad driving a 2009 Suzuki GSXR motorcycle eastbound on Pasadena Avenue S when his motorcycle struck the raised cement curb as he approached Shore Drive. Deputies said Mr. Sims lost control of the motorcycle and landed on the roadway after being thrown off.
