His babysitter, who was also hit by the train, is in stable condition.

PASCO COUNTY – A 2 year old died Monday (Dec. 12) of injuries he received when he and his babysitter were hit by a train, the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office said.

Hunter Fink, 2, died at an area hospital where he was flown after he was hit. Heather Henderson, 26, his babysitter, is in stable condition, deputies said.

Deputies said the collision happened about 11:55 a.m. in the area of Pattie Road and Paul S. Buchman Highway in Zephyrhills. Hunter and his 4-year-old sister were walking along a train bridge with Henderson and a man named Cody Williams. When they realized a train was coming, deputies said Williams grabbed the girl and jumped off the bridge to safety about 8 feet below the tracks. Henderson was holding Hunter but was unable to jump out of the way in time. They were both hit by the train.

Both the Pasco sheriff and CSX are investigating.
