PALM HARBOR – Pinellas County sheriff’s deputies have accused a Palm Harbor man of stabbing his brother with a knife after an argument.

Ryan Anderson, 22, of 1340 Homestead Way in Palm Harbor, is charged with one count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon causing great bodily harm. His brother, Richard, 26, was taken to Florida Hospital North with non-life-threatening injuries.

The two brothers got into an argument about 5 p.m. Tuesday (Dec. 20) at their Palm Harbor home, deputies said. After the initial argument was over, Richard Anderson fell asleep on the couch.

Deputies said that Ryan Anderson got a kitchen knife and walked over to where his brother was sleeping on the couch and stabbed him in the left arm with the knife. Their stepfather, Michael Carr, was in another room of the house when he heard the commotion and came running out to the living room. Carr told deputies he saw Ryan Anderson attack Richard Anderson with the knife. Carr said he disarmed Ryan Anderson and held him until deputies arrived.

Deputies said Ryan Anderson admitted he tried killing his brother by stabbing him in the chest.
