Northeast High Student Accused of Making School Shooting Threat

He is charged with a second-degree felony, the St. Petersburg Police Department said.

ST. PETERSBURG – A 16 year old was arrested Wednesday (Aug. 15) after he told others he was planning a school shooting, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department.

The name of the boy, a student at Northeast High School, was withheld because of his age.

Police said he was charged with making false reports concerning the use of a firearm in a violent manner, a second-degree felony. The teen’s arrest came after he made a statement in front of other students that he was planning a school shooting.
