She was belligerent and refused to take field sobriety tests, Pasco deputies said.
PASCO COUNTY – A Hudson woman was arrested after she was found passed out at the wheel with her 7-year-old child in the back seat, the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office said.
Liba Hucko, 45,. of Hudson, was charged with one count each of Driving Under the Influence and Child Neglect, No/Minor Injury.
On Saturday (Dec. 29), a deputy saw a Land Rover SUV stopped in the middle of Central Boulevard in Land O’ Lakes for “a long period of time” with its turn signal on. The deputy stopped and said he found Hucko passed out at the wheel with her child, 7, alone in the back seat.
The deputy awoke Hucko and said he saw “mulitple signs of impairment” and called for backup.
Before the other deputy arrived, Hucko was taken to the hospital for a medical complaint. When the other deputy got to the hospital, he said Hucko had bloodshot, glassy, watery eyes and her speech was “thickly slurred.” The deputy said he could smell a strong odor of alcoholic beverage on her breath. The odor grew stronger as she spoke.
Hucko was belligerent towards deputies and the hospital staff and refused to take field sobriety tests.
