NEW PORT RICHEY – A New Port Richey man is accused of stabbing his girlfriend to death, the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office said.

Dayvon Anthony Heath, 26, was charged with first degree murder in connection with the death of Felicia Rich, 28. Ms. Rich was found stabbed to death Friday (June 30) evening. Heath had a self-inflicted stab wound and was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries. Deputies said he is expected to survive.

A woman who identified herself as Heath’s mother called 911 about 7:40 p.m. She told deputies her son had confessed to stabbing and killing his girlfriend and had also stabbed himself.

Deputies went to their home in New Port Richey and found Heath holding Ms. Rich, who was covered in blood and had multiple puncture wounds to the face. She was already dead. The medical examiner later said she had multiple puncture wounds to her face, neck and torso.

Deputies said they found a knife near Heath, who had a stab wound to the neck. He was unresponsive and taken to the hospital.
