He grabbed one McDonald’s employee by the shirt and kicked another in the stomach, St. Pete police said.

ST. PETERSBURG – A man was arrested after he grabbed one McDonald’s employee and kicked another because of an argument about straws, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department.

Daniel Willis Taylor, 40, a transient from the Clearwater area, was charged with two counts of Simple Battery.

The incident happened about 6: 50 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 30) at the McDonald’s, 4595 34th St. S.

Police said that, during an argument about straws, Taylor reached across the counter and grabbed McDonald’s employee Yasmine James, 20, by the shirt and jerked her forward. James defended herself by punching Taylor in the face while he held onto her collar. After a short struggle, Taylor and James were separated.

Police said Taylor continued to yell at employees when the manager asked him to leave the premises.

As Taylor was being escorted from the restaurant, he kicked another employee, Tateona Bell, 23, in the stomach while she was standing near the exit.

James was not injured, but Bell complained of pain.

Police said the incident was caught on video.
