David Allen Boileau Pasco Sheriff | Arrests

Pasco deputies said he told them that the U.S. needs to get rid of people of Middle Eastern descent and that “we’ll get rid of them one way or another.”

PASCO COUNTY – A Holiday man who admitted entering a neighbor’s home is being investigated for a possible hate crime, the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office said.

David Allen Boileau, 58, of Holiday, was arrested Tuesday (Jan. 22) and charged with one count of Burglary of a Residence. A state attorney’s investigation is scheduled for Feb. 11. Deputies said he also has a warrant from Highlands County for failure to appear in a Petit Theft case. Highlands officials have said they will not extradite him.

Deputies said they were called to a home on Pinehurst Drive in Holiday. When deputies arrived, they found Boileau walking down the street toward his own home. He was arrested and read his Miranda rights, after which, deputies said, he agreed to talk.

Deputies said he told them that he entered the yard of neighbors through an unlocked gate. He then entered their home through an unlocked back door. The homeowners – a Middle Eastern family – were not home at the time and thought they had locked the door. Boileau said he didn’t take anything but the homeowner said she was missing a wallet with credit cards, debit card, food stamp card, and gift cards.

Boileau walked through the house and out the front door where he went to the mailbox and went through their mail.Boileau said he saw immigration paperwork for the homeowner or her children. While he was going through the mail, another neighbor confronted him. The two exchanged words and the neighbor told Boileau he was going to call deputies.

According to deputies, Boileau made several statements about his dislike for people of Middle Eastern descent both before and after he received his Miranda warning. The statements included sentiments that the U.S. needs to get rid of people of Middle Eastern descent and that, they don’t belong here.

“He also stated if he doesn’t get rid of them, Trump will handle it. The defendant made statements calling them ‘Habib,’ and they’ve left the building,” the arrest affidavit said.

The affidavit said that Monday (Jan. 21), the day before he was arrested, Boileau had made similar statements that “the U.S. needs to rid the country of all of them” and “we’ll get rid of them one way or another.”

“The defendant also allegedly threw screws at the victim’s brother-in-law’s vehicle in hopes of damaging it or them running over the nails and flattening their tires,” according to the arrest report.

The affidavit adds, “It should be noted the victim owns and has lived at her home for three years without any issues prior to the defendant moving into his residence. … She does not know the defendant nor had any  encounters with him either.”
