Leto High Teacher Accused of Having Sex with Student

Hillsborough deputies said they overheard a conversation during which he admitted having a sexual relationship with her when she was a minor.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A Leto High School teacher was arrested after an investigation into a possible sexual relationship he had with a former student, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.

Eric P. Milis, 30, of Temple Terrace, was charged with one count of Unlawful Sexual Activity with Certain Minors.

Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Section detectives said they went to Leto High School to investigate the sexual offense after a former student, now 19 years old, disclosed to school officials and a school  resource deputy that she and a teacher, Milis, had a sexual relationship when she was a 17-year-old junior. Milis was 28 years old at the time of the incident.

During a conversation overheard by detectives, Milis made statements admitting to the victim that he had a sexual relationship with her when she was a minor.

Detectives said they do not believe there are other victims. The Hillsborough County School District is aware of the incident.
