Largo Police Charge Teen with Murder

Largo police say the teen implicated himself in the murder.

LARGO – Police here have charged a 19 year old with a New Year’s Eve murder.

Jared Tyler Compton, 19, of 711 Rosery Road, No. 401, in Largo, was charged with the first degree murder of Quade Gifford, the Largo Police Department said.

Police said they were called to 616 Rosery Road NW about 11:30 p.m. Saturday (Dec. 31) by paramedics from Sunstar EMS. When officers arrived, they found Mr. Gifford dead from “obvious trauma to his person.”

Compton was identified as a suspect, officers said. They found Compton on Sunday (Jan. 1) and took him to the Largo Police Department for questioning. Officers said he implicated himself as the person responsible for Mr. Gifford’s death.
