Lakewood Elementary School Teacher Accused of Grand Theft

A school resource officer recognized her from a video surveillance tape, according to Pinellas Sheriff’s deputies.

SEMINOLE – A Lakewood Elementary School teacher has been arrested in connection with the theft of hundreds of dollars worth of beauty, facial and hair products from a Seminole store, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said.

Kelly Rose Greene, 24, of St. Petersburg, was charged with one count of grand theft. She teaches at Lakewood Elementary School, in St. Petersburg.

Detectives began their investigation Oct.14, after employees of the Ulta Beauty Store, 7676 113th St. N in Seminole, reported the theft. Store video surveillance showed a woman stealing multiple beauty, facial and hair products from the store. According to detectives, the thefts resulted in a total of $537 worth of beauty products being taken.

Detectives released a copy of the surveillance video social media on Wednesday (Nov 7). A school resource officer from Pinellas County Schools police recognized Greene from the video surveillance and passed the information to sheriff’s detectives.

Deputies said Greene admitted to detectives she was the one shown in the video committing the grand theft. She was arrested Thursday (Nov 8).
