Hit-and-Run Driver Found Under House, Deputies Say

He was driving a truck that crashed into a house and injured a 71-year-old woman, Hillsborough deputies said.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A Tampa man who crashed his pickup truck into a home was found hiding under a house, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.

Robert Devons Siders III, 30, of Tampa, was charged with one count each of Leaving the Scene of a Crash with Serious Bodily Injury, Reckless Driving with Serious Bodily Injury, and Driving with License Canceled, Suspended or Revoked.

Siders was charged in connection with a crash Saturday (Nov. 24) into a Carrollwood home that pinned the 71-year-old resident and her dog to the couch. The dog was unharmed. Deputies said the woman remains in critical condition at St. Joseph’s Hospital. (For related story, click here.)

Sheriff’s detectives said they learned that Siders was driving his 2004 Chevrolet Silverado when it crashed into the home. A warrant was issued for his arrest and he was found a short time ago hiding underneath a residence on Four Oaks Road.
