Hillsborough Deputy Involved in Three-Car Crash

The deputy was not injured. Two others received minor injuries.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A Tampa man was arrested Saturday (Aug. 20) after he crashed into a stopped vehicle, which then crashed into a Hillsborough sheriff’s car, according to the Hillsborough Sheriff’s Office.

Alfredo Rodriguez-Jimenez, 70, of 1303 E 127th Ave, in Tampa, was charged with DUI.

An on-duty Hillsborough deputy was stopped on N 15th Street about 9:15 p.m. when Rodriguez-Jimenez hit another vehicle that was stopped behind the sheriff’s car. The impact pushed the seconf vehicle into the back of the sheriff’s car, deputies said.

The deputy was not injured and was able to return to work. Two adults in the middle vehicle received very minor injuries and were taken to Florida Hospital as a precaution. Rodriguez-Jimenez was arrested at the scene.
