Andrew Spark | Pinellas County Sheriff | Arrests

The Tampa lawyer has already been charged with similar crimes by the Pinellas County sheriff.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A Tampa lawyer who is accused of soliciting sex with a jail inmate turned himself in Friday (Dec. 22) night, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.

Andrew Spark turned himself in at the Orient Road Jail about 8:15 p.m. He was charged with introduction/possession of contraband into a detention facility and solicitation for prostitution. Spark was arrested and charged earlier this week with similar crimes in Pinellas County. (See story here.) He was released from the Pinellas County Jail about 11:11 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 17) on a surety bond, according to records there.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said the incidents at the Falkenburg Road Jail were discovered during the investigation into the same activity at the Pinellas jail.

According to the Hillsborough arrest warrant:

“On 1Oct. 13, 2017, at approximately 6:25 p.m., [Spark] … entered the Falkenburg Road Jail under the guise of official attorney business. [Spark] entered a secure, unmonitored, attorney-client privilege visitation room. Once inside the room, the defendant engaged in sexual conduct where the inmate  he was there to see performed oral sex on him. The defendant took digital media (pictures) of the encounter on an electronic tablet.

“The photos were later discovered as part of another investigation into the same activity at the Pinellas County Jail. … during a court-authorized search warrant.

“A review of the inmate’s jail calls, showed, on Oct. 12, 2017, [Spark] and the inmate had a five minute and 10 second call in which they discussed [Spark] depositing $10 on the inmate’s account and the inmate agreeing to bartering the $10 off the following day.

“It was confirmed [Spark] did deposit the $10 into the inmate’s account on Oct. 12, 2017. The visitation on Oct. 13, 2017 by {Spark] was confirmed via jail records. The parties also discuss when the best time to conduct the meeting so they will not be seen. …

“The inmate in the recovered pictures has been positively identified by her mother. … The inmate’s cases were researched through the SAO case management system and no cases were found indicating [Spark] ever represented the inmate in any court proceedings.”

Deputies did not release the inmate’s name.
