There were more than 500 people at the pool party, according to the Hillsborough sheriff’s office.

TAMPA – Deputies are investigating a reported shooting at a pool party that may have left one person injured, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said they were called to the Clarion Inn and Conference Center at 9331 Adamo Drive about 7:45 p.m. Sunday (April 8) after a report of shots fired.

When deputies arrived, they found a large pool party with an estimated 500-plus people in attendance. Deputies did not locate any victims, however a man with a gunshot wound showed up at a local hospital where he was being treated for non-life threatening injuries. The man was not being cooperative with detectives or providing details late Sunday.

This afternoon (April 9), the hotel issued this statement:

“On the evening of Sunday, April 8th, 2018, the Hillsborough County Sheriffs Office responded to reports of an incident in the area of the Clarion Inn and Conference Center. At the same time of the incident, the Clarion Inn and Conference Center was hosting a celebrity pool party. Hillsborough County Sheriffs Office is conducting an ongoing investigation, with which the Hotel is cooperating fully. At this time, it is our understanding that the incident occurred off-site and was not directly associated with the celebrity pool party patrons. We wish any parties that were impacted by the incident a speedy recovery, and we are relieved that the matter was handled quickly and efficiently.”
