Fire Lieutenant Tried to Make Cannabis Oil in Fire Station

Deputies said he admitted a botanical extractor and two marijuana plants belonged to him.

PLANT CITY – A lieutenant with Hillsborough County Fire Rescue was arrested Monday (Dec. 10) after a device for converting marijuana to cannabis oil was discovered in a fire station, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

Tavoris A. Allen, 36, was charged with one count of Possession of Controlled Substance – Cannabis Oil, a felony. Deputies said he was trying to convert marijuana to cannabis oil. Allen is a lieutenant with Hillsborough fire.

Deputies said they were called to the Fire Station 26, 5302 Thonotosassa in Plant City, after someone discovered a botanical extractor device operating in the facility.

Upon examination, detectives said they found the machine contained liquid and two marijuana plants that were being converted into homemade cannabis oil.

They said Allen admitted that the machine and marijuana belonged to him.
