Ex-President Accused of Stealing from Youth Football Group

PALM HARBOR – The former president of the Suncoast Youth Football Conference is accused of stealing thousands from the group, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said.

Leonard Anderson, 61, of Palm Harbor, was charged with one count of grand theft.

Deputies began their investigation in May, after officials from the Suncoast Youth Football Conference reported they had noted multiple discrepancies during a financial audit. According to detectives, the thefts occurred between December 2016 and May 2017 and resulted in more than $29,000.00 being stolen from the organization.

Deputies said Anderson used the money for his own personal gain, which included buying a mobile home.
