She made online threats against Gulf Middle, Gulf High and River Ridge High schools, the Pasco Sheriff’s Office said.

NEW PORT RICHEY – A Gulf Middle School student is accused of threatening violence against three schools, the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office said.

The girl, 13, of New Port Richey, has been charged with making written threats to kill or do bodily harm.

Pasco cyber crime deputies said the girl created a social media page on Instagram and named it “Jake the Klown.” She used the page to make threats against Gulf Middle, Gulf High and River Ridge High schools.

The threat, deputies said, was made in the form of a falsely created account stating: “Gulf Middle School @ 12:12; Gulf High School @ 9:45; River Ridge High School @ 1:35 on Monday, Oct. 30. Be ready kids.”

The girl told deputies she created the account about 9 a.m. Saturday (Oct. 28) and made the statements to “prank” Gulf Middle School students. Deputies said that, after making the account, she followed the Instagram accounts of random Gulf Middle School students to create a following. Deputies said she further admitted checking the popularity of the page throughout the day.
