Both Drivers Arrested after Largo Traffic Crash

Alexis Brianna Wright | Paul Elias Zegeer | Arrests

One driver was accused of DUI and firearm-related crimes; the other, drug possession, the Largo Police Department said.

LARGO – A dancer and a man who arranged to spend some time with her both ended up in jail Friday (June 1) after a traffic crash, the Largo Police Department said.

Alexis Brianna Wright, 29, of Tampa, was charged with one count each of possession of marijuana and tampering with physical evidence.

Paul Elias Zegeer, 29, of Charleston, WV, was charged with one count each of driving under the influence, possession of armor-piercing/exp ammunition, and safe storage of firearms required.

Police said they were on a call at the 7-11 at N Missouri Avenue when officers heard a crash. They went to the crash scene in the area of Fourth Avenue NE and E Bay drive.

When they arrived, police said they saw Wright discard something that was later determined to be marijuana.

Wright, they said, is a dancer at an adult establishment who had made arrangements to spend some time with Zegeer.

Zegeer, aside from being excited was also intoxicated, and crashed into the vehicle Wright was driving, officers said.

Zegeer had a loaded handgun magazine in the front seat of the vehicle he was driving. Police said Zegeer denied having a gun, but a search by a Largo police officer and his K-9 partner “Murphy” turned up a loaded firearm.
