Driver Sought in Fatal Hit and Run Turns Himself In

A 58-year-old woman died in the crash, the Tampa Police Department said.

TAMPA – The driver sought in a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian has turned himself in, according to the Tampa Police Department.

Roger Herelle, 33, of Tampa, has been charged with one count of leaving the scene of a crash with death. The charge arises from the death of Sally Ann McClellan Webb, 58, of Tampa.

The crash happened about 9:15 p.m. Sunday (June 17) near the intersection of N Nebraska Avenue and E Linebaugh Avenue.

Police said Ms. Webb was trying to cross the street, eastbound, in the 10000 block of N Nebraska Avenue.. Ms. Webb had walked into the northbound curb lane  in front of 10013 N Nebraska Ave. when she was hit. The driver of did not stop and render aid, instead he continued northbound on N Nebraska Avenue.

When officers arrived, they found Ms. Webb unresponsive and began CPR. Tampa Fire Rescue arrived and were unable to revive Ms. Webb. She was pronounced deceased at 9:30 p.m.
